Postinor-2 is a levonorgestrel-based emergency contraceptive used to reduce the risk of pregnancy after unprotected intercourse, condom breakage, missed birth control pills, and contraceptive accidents. Postinor-2 helps prevent pregnancy by delaying or preventing ovulation (egg release) and thickening cervical mucus to make sperm movement more difficult. It cannot terminate an existing pregnancy and is not an abortion pill.

It contains two tablets, each with 0.75 mg levonorgestrel, traditionally taken 12 hours apart. Postinor-2 works best when taken as soon as possible, ideally within 72 hours (3 days). It does not protect against STIs and is not intended for regular contraception.

How to Consume

1. Take one tablet as soon as possible, followed by the second tablet 12 hours later. (Some pharmacists may advise taking both tablets at once, follow healthcare advice.)

2. If vomiting occurs within 2–3 hours, contact a pharmacist, you may need another dose.
